Student Dress Code and Etiquette – (no dress code for Parent/Tot or Creative Dance)
Students should be timely to class, prepared mentally and physically to participate, and wearing appropriate dress for his/her class. We ask students to raise hands for questions and comments during class. Food, gum, jewelry, street shoes, and beverages besides water are not allowed in the dance studios. Students should not be in the studio without instructor permission. Click here for more information about our dress code.

*Parents, we need your help with ballet slippers. Please triple or quadruple knot the elastic ties at the front of ballet slippers and either cut the laces to about an inch and tuck them into the shoe, or tie an additional triple knot bow. Thank you!

Communication – Our primary method of communication is email. If you have not received an email from us this year, please check with our front office staff or call to update your information.

Weather Cancellations – Our policy is to close the studio when Jefferson County Schools are closed. If schools are open and road conditions are worsening throughout the day, we may close and will update our Facebook page and email classes.

Attendance/Absences – Good attendance is a vital part of any educational process and students with high attendance (and their peers) learn more throughout the year. If your child misses a class, s/he is welcome to attend a make-up class with any other class in the same age range.

Parent Portal – You can create a username and password to login and access your account with Lakewood Dance Academy.  There is a button on the home page, www.lakewooddance.com, titled “Parent Portal” and also on the registration page titled “Current/Past Student Registration.” You can change payment information, register for or drop classes, view past enrollment, etc.

Tuition Payments – Tuition is due monthly Aug. through May. Payments withdraw on the 5th of each month for credit/debit payments. Cash or check payments are due by the 10th of each month.

Parent Observation Weeks- You are invited to watch your child’s class during the weeks of  October 21st – 26th and March 17th –  22nd.   Families and friends are encouraged to attend! For Creative Dance and Ballet/Tap Combination classes, teachers may ask families to wait 10 or 15 minutes before coming into the studio to give our students time to warm-up and prepare.
